Abstract

Women’s rights and gender justice are essential components of social equality, human dignity, and democratic governance in India. Despite constitutional guarantees of equality and various legal reforms, women in India continue to face discrimination, violence, social inequality, economic exploitation, and limited access to opportunities in several areas of life. Issues such as domestic violence, gender-based discrimination, unequal pay, sexual harassment, child marriage, dowry-related offences, and underrepresentation in decision-making processes remain significant challenges to achieving gender justice. women’s rights and gender justice in India from a legal and constitutional perspective. It explores the constitutional provisions, legislative measures, judicial interventions, and government policies designed to protect women’s rights and promote gender equality. the role of the Indian Constitution, particularly Articles 14, 15, 16, and 21, in safeguarding equality, dignity, and personal liberty for women. It also discusses important laws related to domestic violence, workplace harassment, dowry prohibition, maternity benefits, and protection against sexual offences.
