1. Language of Submission
» All manuscripts must be submitted in English.
» Abstracts may be submitted in English only, or in both English and Russian.
» Articles should be written in clear academic English. Authors for whom English is not a native language are encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally edited prior to submission.

2. Manuscript Types
We accept the following types of submissions:

3. Formatting Requirements
3.1 General Formatting
» Submit manuscripts as Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) files.
» Use Times New Roman, 12 pt, double-spaced, 1-inch margins.
» Include page numbers in the footer.
» Use footnotes, not endnotes, for supplementary or explanatory comments.

3.2 Manuscript Structure
Each submission must include:
» Title (in English, and optionally in Russian)
» Author(s)’ Full Name(s), institutional affiliation(s), and email address
» Abstract (250-300 words; in English or English + Russian)
» Keywords (5–7 terms in English; Russian optional)
» Main text, clearly structured with section headings
» Footnotes (Chicago/GOST) or in-text citations (APA)
» References / Bibliography
» Figures, Tables, or Images (if applicable, with captions and copyright clearance)

4. Citation Styles
Authors may choose one of the following accepted citation styles:
» APA 7th Edition (Author-date, in-text references)
» Chicago Manual of Style (Footnotes + Bibliography)
» GOST (Russian Standard) (for Russian-language sources)
Ensure consistency throughout the manuscript. Manuscripts that do not comply may be returned for revision prior to peer review.

6. Peer Review and Editorial Process
» All submitted research articles undergo double-blind peer review.
» The average review time is 2 weeks from the date of initial submission.

6.1 Authors will receive:
» Editorial decision (accept, revise, reject)
» Reviewer comments (if applicable)

7. Plagiarism and AI Policy
All submissions are screened using professional plagiarism detection and AI content detection tools.
» Plagiarism threshold: Less than 20% similarity (excluding references and properly cited quotes)
» AI-generated content: Should not exceed 20% and must be transparently disclosed in the cover letter if used.
Manuscripts exceeding these thresholds may be rejected without review.

8. Ethics and Responsibilities
By submitting a manuscript to ROSSIISKAYA ISTORIYA, authors agree to the following:
» The submission is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by another journal.
» All sources and contributions are properly cited and acknowledged.
» Any potential conflicts of interest or funding sources are disclosed.
