Abstract

A more pressing need for sustainable architecture methods that encourage resource-efficient and resilient urban development has arisen as a result of rising environmental degradation, fast urbanization, and the impact of climate change. A crucial area for sustainable transformation is the building sector, as the built environment is responsible for a substantial portion of the world's energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and natural resource depletion. One viable solution to these problems is sustainable architecture, which incorporates eco-friendly practices throughout a building's lifespan, including renewable energy sources, energy-efficient systems, climate-responsive planning, and ecologically sound design. Improved long-term performance, lower operational costs, healthier occupants, and lessened environmental consequences are all benefits of green construction approaches. how to promote climate-resilient urban development through the use of environmentally friendly design and construction methods. Passive design strategies, green walls and roofs, rainwater harvesting systems, energy-efficient materials, solar energy integration, BIM (Building Information Modeling), smart building technologies, and circular construction approaches are some of the important ideas and principles reviewed. BREEAM, GRIHA, and LEED are globally renowned green building certification systems that help spread awareness about the need of eco-friendly building techniques. exploring how sustainable construction solutions can be more quickly adopted through the use of urban planning, policy interventions, and stakeholder involvement.
