Abstract

This study investigates methods for teaching freestyle swimming skills to juniors aged 6-8 years using an experimental approach suitable for such research. The sample consisted of 45 children divided into three experimental groups. The researcher used physical tests to measure the fitness components and observation checklists to assess the technical performance of swimmers in freestyle swimming. The study ended with several results:

  1. The best educational method used by the third experimental group, which taught the arm and leg movements at the same time, was the best method to teach freestyle swimming for beginners of 6-8 years old.

  2. The second method was the method used by the second experimental group, which taught the leg movements before the arm movements.

  3. The first experimental group, which taught arm movements first followed by leg movements, showed the weakest performance among the three groups
