Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology and digital communication has transformed modern society by increasing global connectivity, online transactions, and electronic data exchange. While technological development has created numerous opportunities for economic growth, communication, and innovation, it has also led to the rise of cybercrime as a major global threat. Cybercrime includes unlawful activities such as hacking, identity theft, phishing, online fraud, cyberstalking, ransomware attacks, data breaches, financial crimes, and cyber terrorism carried out through computers, digital devices, and internet-based systems. cybercrime and the legal challenges arising in the digital age. the nature, types, and impact of cyber offences on individuals, businesses, governments, and international security. the role of cyber law, digital evidence, cybersecurity frameworks, and law enforcement agencies in combating cybercrime and protecting digital infrastructure. emerging technological threats associated with artificial intelligence, cloud computing, social media platforms, cryptocurrency, and the dark web. legal and ethical issues related to privacy rights, data protection, cross-border jurisdiction, cyber surveillance, and the admissibility of electronic evidence. The study evaluates national and international legal frameworks designed to regulate cyber activities and address the increasing complexity of digital crimes. the challenges faced by investigators and judicial systems due to rapid technological advancements and evolving cyber threats.
