Abstract

This research paper aims to analyze the reality of digital transformation in Algeria by examining the extent of its progress in the field of digital technologies and its assimilation of their implications, while providing a comprehensive overview of the National Digital Transformation Strategy. It also highlights the major challenges faced by Algeria throughout its journey toward digital transformation. The study concluded that despite the efforts made by the Algerian government in the field of digital investment, the pace of digital transformation remains relatively slow. This is due to a set of obstacles that hinder the effective and successful implementation of the digitalization project, as reflected in the e-readiness indicators issued by international reports. In light of these findings, the study puts forward several recommendations, including the need to provide comprehensive digital infrastructure, enhance and develop human resources and their competencies, establish a legal framework governing emerging electronic transactions and practices, and promote a digital culture within society to help reduce the digital divide among users.
