Main Article Content
Abstract
This article examines China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which was launched in 2013 as a strategy to enhance global connectivity and promote economic development through infrastructure investments. The study analyzes China’s strategic goals behind the BRI, including its desire to secure access to vital trade routes, expand its influence in Asia, Africa, and Europe, and create new markets for Chinese products. The paper investigates the political, economic, and diplomatic consequences of the BRI for both China and participating countries, with particular focus on the challenges posed by debt sustainability, local governance, and international relations. The article also explores the growing competition between China and other global powers, such as the United States and the European Union, as they respond to the BRI. The research concludes by assessing the long-term implications of the initiative on global trade patterns, geopolitical influence, and the future of international infrastructure development.
