Abstract

This article explores China’s foreign policy under President Xi Jinping, with particular focus on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and its implications for global power dynamics. The study examines the strategic objectives behind the BRI, which seeks to enhance connectivity and economic cooperation between China and over 140 countries, primarily in Asia, Africa, and Europe. The paper analyzes the political, economic, and diplomatic strategies employed by Xi Jinping to expand China’s influence and secure its position as a global superpower. It explores how the BRI aligns with China’s long-term objectives of economic growth, resource acquisition, and geopolitical influence, particularly in regions historically influenced by Western powers. The research also assesses the reactions of other major powers, such as the United States and the European Union, to China’s growing global presence, and discusses the risks and challenges that the BRI poses to China’s foreign relations. The paper concludes by reflecting on the future of China’s foreign policy and its potential to reshape the global order.
